Indian National Orchestra - a brief introduction

The concept of the orchestra of Indian classical instruments was conceived by the great sitarist Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar Ji about 52 years back. It was inaugurated in All India radio, Delhi by the then prime minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Pandit Ravi Shankar Ji combined south Indian classical musical instruments with north Indian classical instruments. The same tradition was carried out by Late Pandit T.K. Jay Raman Aiyar, Late Pandit E.S. Shastri, Late Pandit Gopal Krishnan, Late Pandit Pannalal Ghosh & Late Pandit Viswajit etc. All these great music composers & conductors made a new Indian classical orchestra combining both north and south Indian instruments & ragas.

In the same foot steps Pandit Amarnath ji started his Indian classical instrumental orchestra “Aradhana Vadya Vrind” in the year 1993.

Pandit ji is now conducting and directing this orchestra. He was influenced by the great musicians Pandit Ravi Shankar, Late Pandit E.S. Shastri & Late Pandit Gopal Krishnan.

orcPandit Amarnath started composing and conducting Indian classical orchestra from 1993. He has given innumerable live concerts which were highly appreciated.

Pandit Amarnath ji has now established his own orchestral group. This Indian classical instrumental orchestra has been empanelled under Indian Council for Cultural Relations (I.C.C.R.), Ministry of External Affairs, and Government of India also.

Pandit Amarnath ji has conducted & directed Indian classical orchestra in many cities of India like Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata & in many foreign countries like Australia, Japan, Korea, Estonia, etc.
